friday

This is the day  the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

Lauren is feeling a little better. I made her the snack plate above and she barely ate any of it, but she smiled when she saw it. That made the work worth it.

Shawn has to work all day today. I'm not complaining because I know a lot of husbands have to work all day on Friday. It's just that he wasn't supposed to have to work all day today. He just found out yesterday that he had to fill in for a guy on a project they are doing. I won't see him until late this evening. Boo.

I guess it is going to be another day of healing in our home. I've been doing laundry and wiping Lauren's nose all morning. If you could see the piles of junk important stuff I have lying around the house you might feel sorry for me and come and clean it up. Or, you might tell me to get off my bottom and clean it up!

I had planned on cleaning up yesterday while Lauren napped, but alas she would not go to sleep in her crib. So, I grabbed the humidifier, propped her up on a pillow, and settled in beside her in our bed. She fell right to sleep. Precious could not even begin to describe how adorable she is when she sleeps. It was really nice to rest with her, but that meant I missed my couple hours of clean time. I wonder what today will bring on the napping front?

Happy Friday everyone. Enjoy your weekend!

  1. A good friend of mine used to have this poem hanging over her rocking chair in her child's room. Over the years I have thought of it often and how true it is. All of that "stuff" waits on you - enjoy Lauren while she is young, and she will enjoy you much more when she grows older.

    BABIES

Cleaning and cooking can wait 'till tomorrow

For babies grow up, as we've learned to our sorrow.

So quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep,

I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep.
